As the directions state 'Sign your name along the fold of the paper with a full pen of ink, and then double the page over without using blotting paper'. The result is then the 'ghost' of that person's signature. The results are similar to those of a Rorschach test.

The signatures to this book include Mary Ellen Smith Hingston, Robert Sullivan, Ethel H Sullivan, Marian McDonald, Christopher Cheel, A E Strong, W Tilbury, Helen Cheel, Ada Strong, Lizzie Cheel, E L H Wells, Louie Allen, D Winifred Ethel Tozer, D Kirrage and many more individuals.  

Cecil Henland produced this work and similar blank books such as 'The Christmas Book' which was for writing wish-lists, and 'Your Hidden Skeleton' which is of a similar vein to this work.
